Folks yang udah janjiin mau bantuin bikin template, here below is the layout and its dimensions.

Kenapa suddenly jadi 1000px?
Well, simply because existing width is too narrow. Bukan dalam konteks text-nya, tapi overall web looks.. I'm assuming that most of the PC/Laptop resolutions is having min. 1024x768 px, which is very true...

What should I do?
The Illustrator will help to "draw" the area in the square-box 1000x500 px. Please keep in mind the intended space usage, that area 1, 2 and 3 can be fully decorative, while (part of) area 4 will contain our future content (text and graphic).

I still don't get it! Please elaborate!

Bagian "square-box" yang dimaksud adalah bagian top-nya aja, as follow:


Elemen yang lain: Logo, "picture", tittle, box untuk date, paper background, etc. termasuk juga areas (background) outside 1 ~ 5, dibuat terpisah dan akan dipasangkan melalui CSS.

Understood, so what is my scope then?
You are our illustrator. So, you are expected to "draw" other elements as well. You must already got the complete web-look, as in the final "http://lucyblackmore.co.uk/". But the "square-box" is important, because that's the core part of the design. Part lainnya bisa lahh ditambal sulam :)

Area 1 and 3 are too narrow. Boleh di bleed ke area 4 nggak?
Ohhh, boleh sekali dunk... Use your creativity! But do remember, that part 4 will contain text and images, dan size-nya akan overflow ke bawah. So, any bleed to part 4, nggak boleh menghilangkan continuity dari web design secara keseluruhan.

Atau, boleh nggak Part 4 nya nggak 900 px, maybe 750 px or higher?
Hmmm, masih bisa kaya-nya.. But 750 px is the real minimum for text area ya Pak...

Mau seperti apa "look and feel" nya?
Well, ini sebetulnya item yang mesti kita discuss sama-sama. Yang pasti, color palete udah hampir ada kesepakatan, sesuai yang nomor 1 (silvery-brown) atau nomor 3 (brown background with almost every gradation of blue, brown and yellow). Therefore: no pink please.... :).

Secara keseluruhan, design-nya mesti menunjukkan some maturity and professionality, no excessive and eye distracting elements. Illustrator berhak menentukan lokasi critical elements, dimana harus menentukan posisi tanggal posting, misalnya. Nanti tugas si CSS maker (sayah) yang akan mengejawantahkan-nya :).

Yang udah ada di kepalaku sampai saat ini siyy:
Overall look akan seperti kertas terbuka, yang diselimuti dengan decorative elements gituh, jadinya seperti akan bilang, "this is our gift for you, readers..". Yes, our writing will be our presents to the readers, right?

1. Area 2, akan berisi:
- Logo: Waroeng Ngondek. Jadi yaa semacam gambar warung or coffee-shop yang colorfull (blueish-brownish gitu), dengan tulisan "Waroeng Ngondek". Posisinya di top left of Area 2.
- Picture: not our picture off-course. Katanya semi-closeted :p. Tapi kita pilih tokoh manga favorite kita. Kalo akyu, kok kaya-nya lebih sreg dengan cara penggambaran dua toko Rin, yaa..
Niy dia mereka, boyish look and adorable khan? ;)

Tapi yang akan nampang di top right itu, tentu saja sekelompok gay yang sedang posing. Seperti friends? atau cuma mukanya ajah seperti diatas? :p
- Title of "Waroeng Ngondek": stylized version
- "About Us" dalam bentuk logo. Ada beberapa ide yang udah berhasil ku curi :p
- Decorative: Nahh ini dia niyy... Sampai sekarang bayanganku mentok di swirls aja euyyy..

2. Area 1 dan 3
Ini decorative juga.. Seperti kata Days, swirls - florals, kayanya bagus ya... Hmmm, perlu pake pelangi juga nggak yaa.. Mudah-mudahan nggak jadi kaya Concierge Production ajah ;)

3. Area 4
Pastinya paper background dengan garis-garisnya ituhh.. Atau mungkin a recycle paper ajah?

Hmm, isn't it a little bit excessive work for a "humble" gay blog yang orang2nya pada sibuk semua?
Iya siyy.. Tapi, walopun akhirnya kita nggak bisa mbikin dari scratch, tohh juga masih bisa ngopi template orang dan kemudian kita modifikasi kan?

Iya dehh Pak... What is the dateline then?
Hmm, as soon as possible? :) Biar nggak warm-warm chicken shit gitu lohh...

So, karena semuanya pada milih color palete yang diajukan, akhirnya template yang dipakai pun template-nya pelukis :). Ini masih bener-bener nyontek, belum ada customisasi-nya, secara overal loading page nya terlalu lambat. Tapiii.... worthed ngelihat visual-nya kok :)

Dan script untuk bagian atas, di-contek (kemudian di modifikasi) dari script-nya Foliage. Aslinya hanya untuk blogspot versi classic (Template), tapi udah di port ke versi xml (Layout) yang terbaru :). Kerangkanya sendiri diambil dari default Blogspot template: TicTac Blueberry.

Ini masih separuh jadi yaaa, jadi jangan protes dulu... :).

Udah siap bikin blog keroyokan kan? :) Nggak seru kalau kita nggak design sendiri, jadi let's do the following:
- Kita tentuin mood blog kita, kemudian based on that, kita akan tentukan pallete warna nya.
- Kita mesti sepakat juga major theme blognya, untuk kemudian kita cari template yang sesuai.
- Template tersebut kita fine tune dengan color template yang kita sepakati (sukur - sukur kalau udah ada yang langsung pas), termasuk adding cosmetics disana-sini

Gampang kan? :)

Based on mood gw malam ini, mau propose image berikut untuk nanti kita convert ke pallete warna.

Pallete 1:
Tone-nya dari silver grey, ke gradasi brown


Pallete 2:
Yang ini: blue, green, yellow

Colorful: ada biru, brown, yellow, green, pada berbagai kepekatan warna

Coming out really requires great courage, as we are facing the uncertainty of outside world whether accepting us for what we are, or we're becoming the clown of the century. That's why, its not for everybody, not necessarily...
